Literature Analysis #1 Heaven is For Real

TOPIC(S) and/or EVENT(S)
1.  My non fiction book was about a little four year old boy, Colton, who as a result of a ruptured appendix, gets emergency surgery. While in the operating room he doesn't experience a near death type of experience because he never actually died. He tells us about how he sees his father and mother praying for him. Over time he tells his parents about his experience of when he was in heaven and how his experience was when he met Jesus. While he was in heaven lots of things happen. The things that stood out to me were when he sat on Jesus' lap, there were thousands of colors that we have never seen before, no one is old there and no one wears glasses, it never gets dark, he met his great grandfather, there is light above everyone's head, and the gates from heaven are made out of gold and pearls.
2. The author decided to write about this topic because he was Colton's father.
3. Why i chose this book was because my cousin recommended this book to me. She told me that it was a really good book. Also why I picked it was because of the title. The title Heaven is For real  made me wonder is heaven really for real? What made me keep on reading this book was because of all the things that happen to the family and also Colton's entire experience in heaven, even though it felt like a long time, it was only three minutes long.
4. I found the book realistic because kids are usually pure and innocent and that is why i believe that God did take Cloton up to heaven.

People
1. The author uses his personal observations to write this book. The author chose to write this book because this experience happened to his own son. The authors tone was amazed. Since he was Colton's father he was telling what Colton has told him about his experience of when he was in heaven.
2. Colton is a little four year old boy who was raised around a Christian setting and as a result of a burst appendix he was rushed to the hospital. Undergoing surgery he is taken to heaven and his experience is one of a kind. Colton looked like a normal four year old.
Todd is Colton's father and he is the author and the narrator. He tells the story of what happened to his son while he was in heaven. Todd looked like a normal dad.
Jesus is God's son and he was the one that received Colton into heaven. He was the one who should him everything.  Jesus was beautiful and had a long beard and was wearing white and had a purple sash.
3. What was interesting about them to write about was that first of all Colton was a four year old that wouldn't harm anyone and that was very innocent. Todd was the type of father and minister that put his family and faith over everything else. Jesus was a guide to Colton and this represents how he is a guide for humanity.

Style
1. The author used symbolism in the form of what Cloton's age represented. It represented his innocence and how he was pure. He also used a form of journalistic style because he told the audience everything that was leading up to the surgery.
2. The author focused on lengthy descriptions of what was going on. This choice effected the book by giving it a sense of what was going on.
3. The tools that he used were symbolism and he knows how to explain well.
4. The authors attitude toward the characters was amazed. He was amazed by everything he was hearing.
5. He didn't offer any resources to why this all happened.

Enduring Memory
What i expect to remember for a long time was all of the things that happened to him while he was in heaven. I think that these thing are going to stay in my mind for a while because everything seemed so beautiful the why that they were described.
