Vocabulary #2

Obesity: the condition of being grossly fat or overweight
obesity has become one of our nations top problems.

Accumulate: gather together or acquire an increasing number or quantity of 
by eating a lot of unhealthy things fat will accumulate and cause problems in the long run. 

Mass: a body of coherent matter; bulk size or massiveness 
being overweight can cause large amounts of mass on the body. 

Disease: any harmful condition 
obesity is a major disease that can effect anyone. 

Diet:particular selection of food 
my coach decided to put us on a diet after watching how out of breath we were. 

Prevalence: widespread 
there is a prevalence of obesity in the country. 

Stigma: mark of disgrace or infamy 
obesity marks a big stigma on ones self being. 

Adolescent: growing to adulthood: youth 
high school students or adolescents are the primary targets for fast food restaurants. 

Cardiovascular: pertaining or affecting the heart 
its important to keep your cardiovascular health up. 

Excessive: going above and beyond the necessary limit 
its important to excessive your goals. 

Mechanism: assembly of moving parts preforming a complete function 
our bodies are complex mechanisms

Sedentary: to take little exercise; to sit or rest a great deal 
most overweight people are sedentary

Predispose:  to give an inclination to beforehand 
the lack of exercise my predispose people to be overweight. 

Syndrome:  a group of symptoms that consistently occur together or a condition characterized by a set of associated symptoms 
down syndrome is something that happens when you have more chromosomes then you are supposed to.
