1.Expository: serving to expand or explain 
You should consider taking an expository writing class. 

2.Composition: act or result of combing parts to form a whole 
The composition of what happened prove that you broke the vase. 

3.Assuage: to lessen 
The cause of the great depression was a great assuage of food. 

4.Decadence: moral deterioration 
Some historians say that the fall of Rome was due to its internal decadence 

5. Hachneyed: trite, made common place 
Everyone now is using the hachneyed old saying from the 80's. 

6. Coalition: alliance 
The Avengers are a coalition

7. Transcend: to go beyond the ordinary limits of 
The coach transcended to help his team make the finals. 

8. Meritorious: deserving praise, reward 
The team is meritorious on winning the championship for all their hard work this season. 

9. Lurid: shocking, horrible 
The lurid feeling of someone scaring you is not always fun. 

10. Petulant: showing impatient irritation, especially over some trifling annoyance 
The sister was very petulant when her brother kept throwing things at her.
